Spatial module for Talend Open Studio (aka. Spatial Data Integrator or SDI) is an ETL with geospatial capabilities. Likewise regular TOS components, there are basically three sorts of Geo components: input, output and transform components. Input and output components read features from and write feature to datastores, respectively. Transform components read features from their input flows, possibly transform those features, and write features to their output flows. The term transform is to be taken loosely here as it represents any sort of operation. – http://sourceforge.net/projects/sdispatialetl/

Geographic Resources Analysis Support System. Commonly referred to as GRASS, this is free Geographic Information System (GIS) software used for geospatial data management and analysis, image processing, graphics/maps production, spatial modeling, and visualization. GRASS is currently used in academic and commercial settings around the world, as well as by many governmental agencies and environmental consulting companies. GRASS is an official project of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. – http://grass.fbk.eu/

Integrated Flood Analysis System (IFAS): Flood Forecasting System Using Global Satellite Rainfall. ICHARM has developed a concise flood-runoff analysis system as a toolkit for more effective and efficient flood forecasting in developing countries. This system is called “Integrated Flood Analysis System (IFAS)”. IFAS provides interfaces to input not only satellite-based but ground-based rainfall data, as well as GIS functions to create river channel network and to estimate parameters of a default runoff analysis engine and interfaces to display output results. ICHARM has been conducting training seminars for users to utilize IFAS and to do a co-operative study with local governments, organizations, etc. ICHARM hopes that IFAS will be widely used as a basic tool for preparing flood forecasting and warning systems in insufficiently gauged basins. — http://icharm.pwri.go.jp/research/ifas/index.html
